The Technologist mustdemonstrate knowledge of basic principles of growth and development over thelife span. The EEGTech Assistant I must demonstrate clinical application, age appropriate andpopulation specific care and theoretical knowledge consistent with the currentliterature and accepted practice of the profession dictated by the AmericanClinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) or American Board of Registered ElectroneurodiagnosticTechnologists (ABRET). EEG is used to measure and record theelectrical activity of the brain.Īpplies practicalknowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the central andperipheral nervous system is required to provide care appropriate to thepatients receiving an EEG test. The EEG Tech AssistantI is a skilled allied health professional who performs the diagnostic testingprocedures of Electroencephalograms, in various forms, including routine,critical care and LTME (Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy). The employment offer is conditional uponsuccessful completion of a cotinine test and Occupational Health clearance. Pre-employment health screening requirementswill include cotinine (nicotine) testing, as well as drug and other requiredhealth screenings for the position.
